Our Family Christmas Card

Despite the heavy snow and rain I brought the boys into the studio for our Christmas card shoot. Both were super excited to wear their pj's for the pictures. After about 5 minutes of playing jack in the box with the presents and and agreeing to pay them with Hershey kisses we got some great shots and some pretty funny outtakes.

Mason

I had the pleasure of photographing little Mason in the studio today. He's not crawling yet but he's not letting that slow him down.

Fall portraits in downtown Portland

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Laura's portrait session.
We chose a park in downtown Portland as our perfect fall backdrop.

Last week I attended the New England Institute of Professional Photography where I studied New York Style Weddings with New York photographer Charles Maring.

Charles has a unique style combining still photography and high def. video to create not just a wedding slideshow but a motion picture.

This is a new technology brought by Canons 5D.

Although I believe still photography is timeless and will always be valued this type of " hybrid photography" is becoming increasingly more popular.

However Hd video was only a small part of our 5 day course. Charles touched upon many photography techniques as well as how to market and manage your studio. I already have some new ideas in full swing, just in time for this years weddings.
